POMPEI is pleased to present That Time, That Place, a group show featuring watercolors by Dylan Goldberger, Lucia Harmon, and Joe Scordo.

“When you sit and look at something, really look at something, it’s like you made a memory between you and the something. You get to know all the little quirks that make it special. Sitting and drawing the same thing together, in that time and that place, making memories between you and your friends is what it’s all about.

2020 happened and being outside was all you could do in NYC. So art outside brought this group together. None of them watercolored on a regular basis, but the portability of the paint made it the medium of choice.”

Dylan Goldberger is an illustrator and printmaker best known for loving dogs and skateboarding. Watercolor scratches his itch to be outside, with friends, feeling productive. Using a medium that he doesn’t use in his day to day illustration work makes art feel like a hobby again.

Lucia Harmon is a multimedia artist who makes stuff out of trash. She lives in Brooklyn and creates at home amongst the chaos of raising her son. She habitually fits making art into any pocket of life she can. So biking around with this trio fit in quite nicely with this makeshift existence.

Joe Scordo has been drawing what’s around him since he’s been around it. Being that art making is often a lonely process, he’s glad he has friends that wanna talk while they draw. Talking and laughing with people is his other favorite thing.

POMPEI is a creative project space and gallery founded by J Grabowski and Jacqueline Pompei. POMPEI is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays, 2-6 pm, and Monday-Friday, by appointment.
